Harley Davidson the iconic brand was kick started in the shed by William S Harley and his brothers Arthur and Walter Davidson in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They started selling their Air cooled V-twin engine. In 1903 since the brand grow beyond their dreams and reached so many major countries as well as in India recently. In 1907 they spread their name ‘Harley Davidson’ as a brand with the signature 45-degree air-cooled V-Twin engine.              More Details

Harley-Davidson India is a wholly owned subsidiary of Harley-Davidson, based in Gurgaon, Haryana, India. Harley-Davidson India commenced operations in August 2009 and appointed its first dealership in July 2010.
Harley-Davidson offers a range of 11 models in India from each of its six platforms – Sportster, Dyna, Softail, V-Rod, Touring and Street – in addition to a full range of parts, accessories, and general merchandise, available through authorized dealerships.

ENGINE EVOLUTION

First V-twin The Harley Davidson Introduced their first V-twin engine in 1909 with the capacity 7 hp and 49.5 cubic inches displacement.

F Head V-twin- The F Head is an improved version of First V-twin with the fixed Head introduced in 1911.

Flat Head- Introduced in 1973 with the 45 cubic inch displacement. It is an internal combustion engine.

Pan head-  Head of this engine is like a pan and modified version of 61 and 74 OHV V-  twins including aluminium heads.                                          

Shovel head-  Introduced in 1966. It also get the name from its rocker boxes .The shovel head is the modified version of pan head engine which can produce extra 10 horsepower. 

Evolution- Introduced in 1984,The Evolution is the combination of all other five models. Actually, Evo took 7 years for its successful development.                      

Twin Cam 88- Introduced in 1999,derived from the single camshaft introduced in 1 936 Milwaukee-Eight-Introduced in 2016, Milwaukee-eight is redesign of V-twin engine after twin cam 88.
